Imaging the vice president of the Hungarian Society of Cardiologists. Dr. Maurovich-Horvat graduated from the Semmelweis University in 2006, which was followed by a three-year advanced cardiovascular imaging research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Maurovich-Horvat studied clinical effectiveness at the Harvard University, School of Public Health, where he graduated in 2012. He has been awarded by the prestigious Momentum Grant of
the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2013 and 2019. His research interest focuses on the development of non-invasive diagnostic imaging strategies to develop personalized cardiovascular risk assessment, to identify patients prone to suffer myocardial infarction. Dr. Maurovich-Horvat is the author of more than 180 international, peer-reviewed publications on cardiac CT, his total impact factor is over 800 with citations over 8000.
Dr Ball is a Consultant Cardiothoracic radiologist based in the Royal Victoria Hospital Belfast. The hospital is the tertiary referral centre for Cardiac services with a world renowned structural cardiac and congenital department. After completing his medical degree in Belfast, he trained in London and New Zealand before returning to
Northern Ireland. He has been involved in multiple local and international research projects and has lectured on cardiothoracic imaging throughout Europe. He is a course director for the London Cardiac CT course. He is a passionate advocate of close radiology and cardiology working ties and the symbolistic relationship between the two specialties. He is closely involved with radiology registrar HPT Cardiothoracic training, encouraging radiologist exposure to all modalities
of cardiac imaging. He has worked closely with the cardiologists to develop the Cardiac CT service, putting CT imaging firmly in the first line of investigation in both diagnostic and pre device planning. Dr. Ball has experience using different scanners as well as the latest IQon / spectral CT for cardiac imaging.
Dr. Nicolás Almeida is a cardiothoracic radiologist at Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Madrid, Spain. Holding a European Diploma in Radiology (EDIR) from the European Board of Radiology and Level III certification in cardiac CT from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), Dr. Almeida specializes in advanced cardiac imaging, focusing on
cardiac CT and MRI. Dr. Almeida graduated Summa Cum Laude in Medicine from the Universidad Internacional del Ecuador and received the “Best Intern Doctor” Award at Hospital Metropolitano de Quito. He serves as a professor in the Master’s Program in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the Complutense University of Madrid and is the co-director of the “Madrid Cardiac CT Academy.” Dr. Almeida is an active member of renowned societies such as the European Society of
Radiology (ESR), Sociedad Española de Radiología (SERAM), and the Spanish Society of Cardiothoracic Imaging (SEICAT). With over 20 published articles, several book chapters, and active participation in national and international conferences.
